There are several club houses in San Diego, that provide a place to hang out, watch T.V., surf the internet, or grab a meal. At the club houses individuals have a chance to interact and make friends, however they are limited in number and the person with a mental illness has to have means of transportation to get to the facility. The club houses provide the most similar service to Compeer San Diego's Friendship Program, but the proposed Friendship Program will set up the friendship and allow interactions to take place at the residence of the individual with a mental illness.
